After 7 exhausting projects that I have from my client, I have finally decided to say these two words to my client, “I Quit!” The reason that I quit is that I’m sick and tired of him ignoring all of my messages including the remaining payment he owes me. That’s about $110 that he still owes me. If you want to know what really happened to me, here’s my story:
I have finished his last project around 10 in the evening, and I saw that he was online around 10:30 and we both talked. I chat him through GTalk that I have finished his project and submitted his report through email with an attached file. I expect that he will reply within 2 hours before I go to sleep. But before that, he replied to me that I need to show him the Ezine author page where all articles that I published were at present. I showed it to him and no response at all. After two hours of waiting while I’m writing a new blog post about Starting My Early Contest – A Wrong Move?, still no response to him. Before that happened, I already sent him a Paypal money request for $110 to complete the transaction. Once again, no response. So I just left him a chat message saying that I decide to leave. I know that he is always busy, but it’s not fine that he ignored my “so many” messages all the time especially my money request. I sent him a last email that is not really insulting and I even thank him for all the projects he gave me, especially this last one. But his reply is not that friendly, saying that I am too inconsistent.
Too inconsistent? Huh?
We’ll, that is his last words and never replied again. He changed his attitude already and I thought he was a kind and considerate person. We’ll, the truth is that he is not a good person after all and he always delayed submitting his new keywords for me to work on, especially the payments. I should have finished this earlier than waiting more days for him to send another batch of keywords as a resource to the articles I wrote. Not only I wrote articles for him, I bookmarked them and submitted those to his accounts on SEOLinkvine and Unique Article Wizard (he gave me access to them). We’ll, since he didn’t pay me the remaining amount I owed him (he paid me $100 upfront already), it’s fine with me. Just keep the money dude and save it. I’m finally free!
We’ll, I have no other choice but to move on. You know why? I have a brighter future on internet and affiliate marketing than freelancing. It sounds like I’m victorious for myself, because I have finally quit my job on him. I’m really sick and tired of working for someone that they made money more than me. I averaged around $100 to $200 a month on freelancing, but it was not good enough. Now this is a big challenge for me on how will I make money for myself with affiliate marketing. I can finally say to myself “Woohoo”, because I’m saying goodbye to those stressful jobs like my client have for me. When I woke up this morning checking my email, I have receive a message from Jeremy “Shoemoney” Schoemaker on another Shoemoney real success story about a single mother named Sheila Crawford with three great kids, who quits her job as peer legal, and was very successful on her internet marketing career with the ShoeMoney system. She quits her 9 to 5 job because it was so stressful (just like I have from my client with less time on internet marketing) and now she earns 3x than her stressful job at the law firm, and it’s about $1,500 per week on the second month of her ShoeMoney system career and still increasing till now.
Whoa! A good decision to quit the job?
We’ll, she made a good decision for herself and that’s a good example for me. Good thing that I have subscribed to Jeremy’s newsletter and this email came out after I quit my job. But am I making a good decision for myself? Leaving the job unpaid by my client? We’ll, I’m pretty confident for myself making this decision to leave the stressful job just like Sheila’s video on ShoeMoney. So what will I do next right now?
Time to hit the road!
I have now the chance to become a full-time internet marketer at home, and I only have less than $100 in my bank account now. So I won’t waste any time to start marketing and promoting affiliate and CPA offers I have. I also thanked Daniel Lew and Alex Dumitru for helping me to get motivated in my internet marketing career, and I am now. They said that I need to focus more on affiliate and internet marketing than freelancing for my client and paid less. Quitting my job is a tough decision for me, but I think I’m confident and need to have positive and strong attitude to become a successful internet marketer.
So I am ready to start walking down the road and to become focused to be a real affiliate marketing addict!

I think this is a good decision, I've tried these days to write a post about when to give up on projects but I've been so busy. My idea is that you need to like your work and not do it because you are forced…

I just can't wait any longer Alex. I wait for his confirmation and the $110 payment, but nothing. It ended up like crap saying that I'm too inconsistent because of one email that I sent him that I quit because he always "delayed" my opportunities. I might lose my opportunity to grab the final payment, but I don't care at all. Internet marketing is where I'm happier than freelancing. I promised to myself that I will make even more money on internet marketing than freelancing. I'm going for it and I'm strong with my decision.

I also think it's a good decision, but you need to work much harder now until you get financially stable.

You're right Alex. I need to work hard to be successful in affiliate and internet marketing. I'm strong at my decision now, but still I feel that my client will pay me because we both chatted last night about some clarifications. Maybe tomorrow or Tuesday he will pay me, but only a 50/50 chance. Anyway, I don't need to wait for him to pay me, instead I'll take action of myself.

Hi Jeff
All the best with your internet venture. It's a big step to take but if you have made the move I'm sure you will be determined to succeed. You have made some good connections too with having a friend in Dan Lew.

Thanks a lot Patricia. I hope that my journey to become financially free will become successful anytime, but it's good that results will come early. This decision of mine is too difficult, but I'm strong enough that I keep it and take action of what I believe in.

Hi Jeff,
I think you made a good decision. It's important to have passion for what you do. If a regular job, or a freelance project isn't making you happy, then you should cut them loose. They wouldn't have gotten your best work anyways if your heart wasn't into it.

You're right Richard. I need to cut them off for good and it really annoys me. Although I appreciate that it is one way to make money online, but now it's time for me to focus more on my real passion which is internet marketing.
Thanks for coming to my blog man.
Jeff

I quit my job and just jumped in head first.
It was NOT a good decision.
It forces you to make decisions in your online efforts that you might not otherwise make.
It worked out for me in the end
but I would not recommend it to anyone
Good luck to you mate- and congrats!

Hey Alex,
Thanks for dropping by man. Actually I'm confident on my decision because I still have other sources of income for myself that won't stress me. I'm strong to it and I'm ready to face the big challenge.

Hi Jeff, I think you’re right on making the decision to quit. Don’t treat your clients like your priority if they only treat you as an option – especially the kind of client you had when you quit. When you lose something, you'd be gaining something much better after that.

Felicia, thanks for your wonderful comment. I respect my client even if I call it quit and start my own, coz' I have sources of income that won't get me stressed out. I'm confident with my decision. But for others who think they still need it, they have to wait for the right time before they can call it quit.:)
