What the hell? An earthquake?
Yes, we do have an earthquake here. At around 11:48 AM after I got out of the bathroom, I felt something shaky. I noticed that the towels hanging there are moving and I felt dizzy too, so I hurried downstairs if my grandma and her caregivers are fine. The earthquake lasts around 30 seconds. An aftershock soon follows, which only lasts less than 5 seconds. After that, I have gone back to my bedroom and lie down a bit because I’m dizzy when the earthquake happened. My neighbors felt it too, so as the rest of the people in the Central Philippines.
According to PHIVOLCS, they have recorded a 6.8 magnitude earthquake. There was one child who was found dead after a roof of their house collapsed. In San Carlos City, a mall (Gaisano City San Carlos) was affected with their glasses shattered by the earthquake. Three bridges in Negros Oriental have also collapsed, and the roads have cracked. Not only that, a tsunami arrives at their city and it was now flooded. I felt so bad when this earthquake happened, and the aftershock as well. As a result, classes have been suspended, same thing as public and private offices.
When I am on our internet cafe, my girlfriend Quennie was there waiting for me. She also talked to me about the earthquake, so as my employees Eldie and Peter, and some of my customers. I checked my Facebook account and I see that my friends were now posting about the earthquake. Before she left me to rest on her dormitory, I told her to be safe, be ready for the upcoming aftershock, and to pray.
After a few hours around 6:10 PM when I was working with my own stuff, we’ve felt another aftershock. This has caused boarders from the dormitory to go downstairs and others to go out from internet cafes and restaurants. I really don’t know if there will be few or more aftershocks after this, but me and my family should be prepared. This is how an earthquake is so stupid that really distracts my own work, so as the others.
So what should we do?
I guess we have nothing to do but pray for our safety. I have talked to my friend Daniel Lew about this on Skype, and he will also pray for my safety and the others. We can’t control nature, you know? Aftershocks may only last for five to ten seconds, so we should calm down and be safe. But I tell you guys again, earthquake is pretty stupid that we can’t control.

Last year, I’ve also participated in a stupid Christmas Carol contest which my dad forced me to join, whether I’m busy or not. I’m glad that our group has won the grand prize which is nothing to me. This year, the prizes will be much more interesting because they will give out some appliances to the winners. I know it seems interesting for me, but I’m forced again my dad to join in this annual Christmas Carol contest.
