This Earthquake Is Stupid Enough To Distract Me!

This blog post has been optimized using Keyword Winner

What the hell? An earthquake?

Yes, we do have an earthquake here. At around 11:48 AM after I got out of the bathroom, I felt something shaky. I noticed that the towels hanging there are moving and I felt dizzy too, so I hurried downstairs if my grandma and her caregivers are fine. The earthquake lasts around 30 seconds. An aftershock soon follows, which only lasts less than 5 seconds. After that, I have gone back to my bedroom and lie down a bit because I’m dizzy when the earthquake happened. My neighbors felt it too, so as the rest of the people in the Central Philippines.

According to PHIVOLCS, they have recorded a 6.8 magnitude earthquake. There was one child who was found dead after a roof of their house collapsed. In San Carlos City, a mall (Gaisano City San Carlos) was affected with their glasses shattered by the earthquake. Three bridges in Negros Oriental have also collapsed, and the roads have cracked. Not only that, a tsunami arrives at their city and it was now flooded. I felt so bad when this earthquake happened, and the aftershock as well. As a result, classes have been suspended, same thing as public and private offices.

When I am on our internet cafe, my girlfriend Quennie was there waiting for me. She also talked to me about the earthquake, so as my employees Eldie and Peter, and some of my customers.  I checked my Facebook account and I see that my friends were now posting about the earthquake. Before she left me to rest on her dormitory, I told her to be safe, be ready for the upcoming aftershock, and to pray.

After a few hours around 6:10 PM when I was working with my own stuff, we’ve felt another aftershock. This has caused boarders from the dormitory to go downstairs and others to go out from internet cafes and restaurants. I really don’t know if there will be few or more aftershocks after this, but me and my family should be prepared.  This is how an earthquake is so stupid that really distracts my own work, so as the others.

So what should we do?

I guess we have nothing to do but pray for our safety. I have talked to my friend Daniel Lew about this on Skype, and he will also pray for my safety and the others. We can’t control nature, you know? Aftershocks may only last for five to ten seconds, so we should calm down and be safe. But I tell you guys again, earthquake is pretty stupid that we can’t control.

Are You Worrying About ACTA?

This blog post has been optimized using Keyword Winner

Last month, the whole world showed their unity against Stop Online Piracy Act and Protect IP Act, as it was already shelved by Rep. Lamar Smith. You know why? Due to the websites like Wikipedia, Google, Facebook and Warrior Forum going black to show their protests, they let me and the rest of the world to be aware about this. On  January 18 2012, there are 80 SOPA supporters and 31 opponents. But on the following day, it was surprising that the SOPA supporters have gone down to 63, and the opponents rose to 131.

But the war isn’t over yet, you know?

President Barack Obama of the United States maybe against SOPA and PIPA, but there’s one treaty that he indeed signed with the EU Parliament, and it’s what we call ACTA. For some reasons, ACTA (Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement) is SOPA’s big brother, and it is much worse than ever. This international treaty signed by at least 22 countries (including US, Japan, Poland, Ireland, etc.) allows huge media companies and businesses to censor your internet to combat online piracy and physical goods counterfeiting. The worse thing is that ACTA was negotiated in secret, without counseling the public first.

When this treaty will be officially passed through the number of votes on the EU Parliament, there are so many worse things we could expect with them:

1. They might take down websites with copyrighted content. For example, if your video is about a birthday tribute with Lady Gaga’s song, they will take it down and possibly explain it to the court. What if a 3-year old kid downloads a music, huh? Does it make sense?

2. They will order search engines and payment processors to cancel their negotiations with websites that includes copyrighted content (at least one tiny thing).

3. Internet service providers (ISP’s) are required to terminate the subscriptions of every customer who downloads copyrighted material from various sources.

4. Mobile phones, iPods, tablets and laptops with music and software that are downloaded illegally will be confiscated by the authorities.

Does it violate something to our rights?

Of course, it does violate our online privacy rights! Every website that we visit, they will censor it. It means that this law or treaty is not the real solution to combat online piracy, it will only end our freedom of speech. As a result, this will impact lots of online businesses around the world. Internet subscriptions may be lessened due to this international treaty, because we are being limited on using this carefully.

This is why we have to stop ACTA as soon as possible. We remind them that nobody owns the internet, because these old guys in the US Congress and the EU Parliament doesn’t really know what internet is all about. I have signed the petition to Avaaz to combat ACTA, so far more than 1 million people have signed the petition already. The new goal right now is to reach more than 2 million signups. You can participate by signing the petition HERE. Although we agree to fight online piracy, but we don’t allow them to violate our online and privacy rights! There must be another way to do this, as long it does not harm our freedom of speech.

Is ACTA something that we should be afraid of?

If in case this international treaty has passed via the votes of the EU Parliament, this is something we should be afraid of. But it’s not yet too late for us to stand strong and unite against ACTA, we should convince them not to vote against this horrible treaty. We may have defeated SOPA and PIPA, but it’s time for us to defeat the most horrible ACTA to keep our internet open and free.

The Off Beat: My Experience In Riding The Sea Dragon

This blog post has been optimized using Keyword Winner

I swear I won’t do this again!

Am I really serious about it? We’ll, totally I am now. This is my another edition of the Off Beat, and it’s all about the crazy Sea Dragon! Last Monday, me and my lovely friends were having a good time with each other. Near our favorite mall, there’s a carnival with lots of rides and we decide to go there. While we are there, some operators were not yet present to operate the rides, until one of them is ready to operate the Sea Dragon. I have no experience about this yet, and I should have think twice before riding this thing. But my friends really wanted to ride there in order to have fun, so I give it a go. I also notice that this ride is not recommended for those people who have heart problems, and I really don’t have one except heartburn. When the ride begins, it’s really good but when things get serious about the crazy Sea Dragon….

Hell yeah! This really kills me a lot!

As I continue to close my eyes, I still have a crazy feeling that my body was shaking. Not only that, my heart begins to beat faster and the heartburn begins. After the ride, I’m beginning to puke multiple times in the comfort room…but before that…my friends requested me to take pictures. Damn! As we returned to the mall, I’m still continuing to puke multiple times in the comfort room and the worst thing is that when I want to go home, heavy rain falls. I have no other choice but to take a taxi ride home and the traffic is also heavy. I never give up for myself until I got home and puke the rest of what’s inside me…..maybe the whole lunch and the delicious Moccaccino Frap shake that I drink in a coffee shop. After that, I finally rest on my bed until my mom gave me cold Hydrite and some home remedies for me not to feel so weak.

So how the hell am I doing now?

I’m still having a slight feeling of the Sea Dragon effects, as I still have a heartburn and less nausea. But I am confident that this is just normal, and I’m almost fine now and even continuing some of my affiliate and internet marketing experiments. I’m even going to the mall and play some video games in order to enjoy myself. I totally agree that laughter and fun is always the best medicine, so I’m doing it every single day. Lesson learned guys, think twice before riding the Sea Dragon and the rest of those rides.

I should have choose Cable Car or Bump Cars rather than those crazy rides….DAMN!

The Off Beat: Watching The Latest Movies Occasionally

This blog post has been optimized using Keyword Winner

When I’m having a break with my affiliate and internet marketing, I usually go to my favorite mall (SM City Bacolod) to rest my eyes and enjoying myself there. It’s either I go alone, or with my best friends, or with my beloved family. But there’s one thing that I do in an occasion basis, and that is to watch the latest movies ever released by our movie theater. I have started become attracted watching movies because they seem to be pretty interesting, but not all of them you know? Watching these movies is just like a time-breaker for me in order to sit back, relax and forget about the daily stress that I have in my affiliate and internet marketing career, especially when it comes to my own internet gigs. To tell you the truth, when I always wake up in the morning I always have headache due to late sleeping. It’s where I’m addicted to my own gigs and taking action to become a super affiliate like Daniel Lew, John Chow, Zac Johnson, Jonathan Volk, Daniel Tan and a lot more.

But why movies? Why not everything else?

We’ll, I can’t really explain a bit because I just love to watch these movies. Some of the movies that I watched are Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 2, Pirates of the Carribean, Bad Teacher, Johnny English Reborn, Spy Kids: All The Time In The World, Captain America, Green Lantern and recently….Zookeeper. These movies I choose to watch in SM City Bacolod are very wonderful, coz’ I knew they will give me the relaxing mood like no other. There are still movies that are upcoming which I’m gonna watch them like Dolphin Tale, Real Steel and future movies to come.

It’s like refreshing my mind so that I can re-focus on what I am doing every single day to become very successful in the online world. Becoming a super affiliate is one of my biggest dreams for the past couple of years, until now I am still getting into it. There’s no turning back for me now, it’s all about getting focused to learn and take action on what I really deserve. I always never give up on my dreams which reminds me of 13-time WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) champion John Cena that his t-shirt speaks out.

So this is what I always do, always take a break after work…..and watching the latest movies are the perfect choice occasionally.

The Off Beat: Sharing My Weekly Routine

This blog post has been optimized using Keyword Winner

What Would Be My Weekly Routine Looks Like?

Having your own weekly routine should always be maintained in a right way. The more you focus maintaining your routine, the more you get better. But we all know that as internet marketers, we don’t have a stable routine that could let us focus both on and off-time in our work.

Anyway, here is my weekly routine from Monday to Sunday:

Monday to Friday:

Morning: I report to our family business between 8 to 10am. I simply manage our employees here and at the same time doing online business of my own.

Afternoon: After I eat lunch, I continue to do some management here and working on my online business. At around 4pm to 7pm, I usually have my time off going to malls and other places (whether alone or with my friends). Good thing I bring my good ol’ laptop.

Evening: At 7:30pm, I will be the one to close our barber shop. But if in case I don’t want, one of our employees will do it for me while I’m on the internet cafe. I even play online games like Heroes of Newerth and Crossfire if my works are done. As our internet cafe closes around 10 PM, I will be the one to write daily sales reports and counting the money. After that, I go home and wash myself up and go to sleep or even research something.

Saturday:

Morning: Same thing like weekdays.

Afternoon: Same thing like weekdays. But at around 6pm, I usually go to the church to attend an anticipated mass which is about one hour.

Evening: Same thing like weekdays.

Sunday:

Morning: Sometimes me and my family were having some bonding together, or I myself go to the internet cafe and continue some management there.

Afternoon: At around 2pm to 7:30pm, I will be managing the barber shop while our cashier was having a day-off every Sunday. One of our employees in the internet cafe will manage the barber shop in the morning and he will transfer to his main position at 2PM.

Evening: At 7:30PM, it was me who will close the barber shop and follow-up on the sales. Then I go back to the internet cafe to do my main job until it closes.

So now you know my weekly routine that I maintained. I really don’t know how long you will take, as long I’m happy of what I am today as an online marketer.

Life Without IM: Enjoying My Vacation

This blog post has been optimized using Keyword Winner

Hey guys!

It’s been a long time since I haven’t update my blog here. You know why? It’s because I’m on summer vacation, and I’m enjoying myself right now. I’m currently experiencing life without IM, because I need to refresh my mind from all the experiments and hardwork for so many months. I even back out from my client because he wants me to work more, but cheaper rate.

So I quit and enjoy myself today!

I back out because I don’t have time to enjoy myself and my family. Last month, me and my sisters joined our relatives to spend summer vacation at the mountain resort. It’s really cool out there, and it’s perfect for all kinds of families. They have two swimming pools, boating, “Ride of Your Life”, rock climbing, spa, dipping pool, hotels, food court and a lot more.

After we finished our mountain resort vacation, me and my sister went to another sister city called Iloilo. We were invited by our uncle, aunts and cousins to witness the graduation of one of our cousins. She ended up as “cum laude” and a marketing graduate at UP (University of the Philippines) Bernas, Iloilo. I realized that after we have a fine dinner at the dormitory, my sister has friends here. She invited me to join and hang out with them, so I did.

Did I really enjoy hanging out with them?

Of course I did enjoy. You know why? We went to a place called “The Avenue” which was worth it. It’s a place that we can enjoy ourselves during night time. One of my sister’s friends have treated us some coffee shake and chatting with each other. We took some pictures and it’s a moment that I shouldn’t forget.

So when I’ll be back to the IM world?

We’ll, I may be back anytime soon. At least I enjoyed my life here without IM (except checking emails and PM’s) because I truly deserve it. Spending my summer vacation is a key for me to refresh everything, to start over and make new plans to reach my ultimate goal for this year.

The Off Beat: Got Bitten By My Pet Dog

This blog post has been optimized using Keyword Winner

Hey guys! It’s been a long time since I haven’t posted an off-topic or shall we say “Off-Beat” in my blog, and today it’s my opportunity. You know why? It is because I’m going to share about my first ever experience of being bitten by my pet dog last night.

Holy cow! Got bitten by my pet dog?

Yeah absolutely! There are lots of cases every year that people got bitten by their pet dogs through accident. If the pet dog’s immunization was up to date, you would be safe. But if not, it will give you a lot of trouble. Remember folks, there is no real cure for rabies except being immunized by some series of shots.

Ok enough talking now, let’s go over to my story about how I got bitten by my pet dog:

After I finished my dinner, I went to my pet dog (a maltise who was immunized around 2007) to carry her on my arms. But when I’m about to carry her, she immediately struck my right wrist with her fangs. Although it’s just a minor tiny scratch (not deep) and no continuous bleeding, it’s still not an excuse for me because it breaks my skin. I immediately washed it with running water and soap for a few minutes and even put some iodine (Betadine) on the affected area. I already told my parents about this last night, and seems there’s nothing to worry about because my pet dog was not really exposed outdoors with stray dogs and was already immunized up to date.

Nothing to worry about? Holy smokes!

Even if my pet dog is healthy, I still have to seek medical attention to make sure my health is not really at high risk. I went to a local city health office this morning, but the doctors were not available due to some seminar and I’m really pissed off and still worrying about myself. The nurses and other staff in the health office still advise me to perform some shots even if it’s a tiny scratch. But I have to wait until Monday for the doctors to be present, and even requiring me to get a health certificate to be eligible in free immunization.

Lesson learned here guys. Be careful on your dog, even if it’s immunized. Don’t play aggressive with them because they might accidentally bite you or even scratch your skin with their nails. You know what, I’m really afraid to get potential infection or even rabies to get incubated on me. In other words, I’m already scared of my situation right now and today is a heavy rain. I still have a bright future ahead on my affiliate marketing career, coz’ I’m pretty addicted to it! I hope that I can “survive” and may continue to become a successful affiliate and internet marketer for life.

The Off Beat: A Stupid But Beautiful Christmas Carol

This blog post has been optimized using Keyword Winner

Hey guys!

I’m now back to post on my blog which I am very busy most of the time in my big time freelance job that earns me between $500 to $700 per month. Possibly next year, I might earn my first ever GRAND! Woohoo! Not only that I am busy of my big time freelance job, but also spending my stupid hours in practicing with my families, relatives and friends in an annual Christmas Carol contest in our church.

A Christmas Carol huh?

Last year, I’ve also participated in a stupid Christmas Carol contest which my dad forced me to join, whether I’m busy or not. I’m glad that our group has won the grand prize which is nothing to me. This year, the prizes will be much more interesting because they will give out some appliances to the winners. I know it seems interesting for me, but I’m forced again my dad to join in this annual Christmas Carol contest.

He told me that if I don’t join the stupid Christmas Carol contest, he threatens me to stop using his computer that I have used today. Although I had a 7-inch Google Android APad WiFi Tablet PC, it’s not really suitable for my own business and affiliate marketing. I could have almost a bought a laptop, but my dad put a hold on me before buying because of the low specifications and features.

Still a daddy’s boy? How funny!

Yeah, I think so. but I truly understand him a lot even this activity is stupid. Going back to the stupid Christmas Carol, I was reunited again with a bunch of relatives and friends that participated with us last time. But there were also new ones who are participating in this event.

So who’s on my real side?

Actually, there are only few guys and girls out there that truly support and appreciate me in my career. My sister, Peter, Daniel Lew and my lovely “girl” friends are the ones who stand behind my back, no matter I try hard to prove myself to be a worthy friend. We’ll, that’s life for me and I need to have patience. It needs me to adjust and sacrifice my schedule for both work and time for my family, especially in the stupid but beautiful Christmas Carol contest.

Wish me luck guys and I hope we win again, even if it’s stupid! :)

7″ Google Android APad Tablet PC Review

This blog post has been optimized using Keyword Winner

I just wanna tell you guys about my newest gadget today, and it’s the one that I’m talking about. In my previous post about revealing my dream laptop soon, actually this is different and a portable laptop like no other. I can consider this as a laptop because of it’s functions and extensions, and it’s already a dream come true for me. I’m talking about my newest gadget, the 7″ Google Android APad Tablet PC. I researched about the prices of this gadget on eBay and Amazon until I made a deal with a local seller. He shipped my item the day after I paid him (actually that’s his last stock and I’m pretty lucky).

Whoa! I’m very lucky to buy this thing!

It’s the first time that I have bought a physical product online and I’m very happy that this thing was delivered in less than 24 hours! Woohoo! I’m really glad that at least my drought for more than 2 years of waiting to own my laptop, the countdown has finally ended. At least this is the cheapest portable PC I have right now, or we call it as tablet PC. My friends Daniel Lew and Peter are very happy of what I have right now, and I can treat this as my own laptop. Since this is only a tablet PC, I just need something to make it a laptop. I bought a slim USB keyboard, mouse and 4GB SD card to start with, since the package includes a USB adapter. I have tried using this out the whole day, and there are pros and cons that I’ve experienced. So this is my opportunity to make an honest review for my newest APad. Before I will make my own review, here are some of my pictures taken with my APad.

My 7″ Google Android APad Tablet PC:

APad with mouse and keyboard (not included in the package):

This is me with my Google Android APad:

Here is my own review below about the Google Android APad:

Positives

- Fast surfing with your browser through Wi-Fi and ethernet.

- Can be attached with a USB keyboard, mouse and ethernet (LAN cable) through the USB adapter. The mouse pointer will appear once the USB mouse is plugged in.

- Lots of unique applications and games to download and install like the Android Marketplace

- Can do multitasking

- Touch screen feature

- Can work on projects like Word, Excel and Powerpoint (not MS Office)

- Can chat with other users using Meebo IM

- Can expand up to 32GB SD card (micro)

- Can attach speaker or headset

Negatives

- Battery life is only around more than 2 hours. Standby can be up to 3 to 4 hours time.

- Does not really support flash in browsing the web. Instead there is a specialized Youtube application for me to view on.

- Camera and camcorder are not really in good quality, because it only has 1.3 MP.

- Charger’s wire is really small (needs to have a long extension cord to extend).

- Low memory (256MB)

- Difficult in copy pasting content from Word/Browser to another Browser.

- Instruction manual is too limited (some features and instructions are missing)

Do you think this is worth to own?

I do know that I really can’t wait on having my own dream laptop, actually this is good enough to be treated as a laptop. Overall, this was a good value of money for me, cheap and very useful as well. Although the quality of this APad I bought is not that good, but this is very useful if you want to go for cheap or to save money. The best thing about Google Android APad is that not only is good for music, movies and other things to do using touchscreen, but also can be treated as an alternative laptop.

Once again, if you really want to save money and buy a cheap alternative laptop, then the 7″ Google Android APad Tablet PC is for you. This is the cheapest that I’ve ever bought and it’s wonderful, and a good value to my money.
